5 Cars lighter than the new M2

As we all know the new M5 has ‘thudded’ onto the scene. Swinging the literal mass of its M badge around, smashing the competition in performance. That car I personally think has been bashed a little too much in recent weeks, with even tiktokers mocking it with ‘your mumma so fat’ jokes. So instead I thought I’d cut BMW a bit of a break… and weigh shame on the M2 instead! The following is a list of cars lighter than this so-called ‘sports’ car.
BMW E38 728i
My humble 728i. So lets get this straight BMW, the smallest sports car you make is heavier than the largest car you made in 1999? This surely must mean my humble luxo barge is more deserving of the M badge? no?
Jaguar XJR (08)
Ok fine, this facelifted car did undergo a sufficient fat fighters diet. Dropping several hundred lbs due to a new aluminum architecture. But thanks to its thumping V8 it has a few less horses to the M2, and unrivaled comfort. You also look like a much classier type of criminal.
Lexus LS400
Lexus’s flagship, designed to topple the might of Mercedes’s S-Class in the states. She comes with every option and more than the S-Class equipped as standard, along with a 4.0 litre VVT V8! Despite Toyota’s attempts at putting wheels on a planet, yes you guessed it! The M2 is still heavier.
W124 E500
Arguably the genesis of the hot saloon. This is a bigger platform with a V8 shoehorned in by Porsche, and as per the time well over engineered by the Mercedes team. Wider, meaner and lighter than the new M2.
Bugatti EB110
A 3.5 litre, quad turbo V12 should be heavier than a small compact sports coupe. But, Bugatti managed to attach an entire four-wheel drive, luxury supercar into the bargain. Considered a heavy car for the time, the EB110 actually comes in 145kg under the M2
